FUCK.
The word passed his lips through a slight, gleeful smirk, retaining the power abandoned by most other utterances of the word
“Skinny Love”
Portrait of my love :)
This is pretty, but I can’t help but caption it “I can’t draw faces”
“Stonebraker explained to me that Facebook has split its MySQL database into 4,000 shards in order to handle the site’s massive data volume, “
—that’s one heckuva horcrux
Even people from the UK have gross misconceptions about Ireland, I’ve found. They barely know the history of Ireland with Britain, even though it was still going down just under a century ago.
A conversation between my English grandmother and I:
Gran: …so you speak Irish in Ireland?
Me: Well no, most of us speak English, but it’s a language.
Gran: Why don’t you speak Irish then?
Me: Because you took over our country and oppressed us.
Gran: …ah.
Everyone is saying goodbye when they get on the bus, except for me. I guess it’s our driver’s last day today, but this is only my second day and I do not know her. She seems amiable enough. They’re often sharing stories with her. She asks them if they’re staying in the States or going back home in a couple weeks. She tells one that she’s seeing Joel Osteen tonight at the target center. He tells her to read something he gave her. I overheard that it’s because they’re switching the company that runs this route. I only can overhear things, so far. I overheard some gals yesterday talking in German to each other. But I’m in that quiet middle of the bus, where you can’t hear the front so well, nor the back, and those are where the talkative people sit. But the bus is quiet overall. No one really talks. I do not know how long I would have to be a part of this silent community before I would know the driver well enough to truly miss her. Nor do I know how long until I will be a part of this community at all. It might depend on how good my books are. rdv

This is what it looks like. We’ve been in south Moorhead, just north of the 94 bridge. We’ve been working here since noon, and it’s taking a lot longer than last night. We haven’t gotten anything all the way up for a while. Bags are in short supply, so we stop every 15 min or so. But things are good too. We’ve finished off a couple of dikes. We intend to stay here one more night at least. For the most current updates on what matt and I are doing, check out my twitter @ www.twitter.com/ryanvanasse Rdv Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

galactica couldn’t stay as a show about the humans trying to escape and the cylons always being hot on their trail, otherwise it would have just turned into the Dukes Of Hazzard in space.
Actually that would have been awesome
